Rick Gideon

Chief Executive Officer

Rick Gideon was appointed Maverick’s Chief Executive Officer in July 2024. Gideon joined Maverick in May 2023 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Maverick, Gideon served as Chief Executive Officer of Roan Resources, Inc. Gideon has held numerous leadership roles in public and privately held companies, including Senior Vice President of U.S. Exploration and Production for Devon Energy Corporation as well as senior positions at HighMount E&P, LLC, Linn Energy, Inc., and Dominion Energy, Inc. He has also advised and consulted firms such as Blackstone Energy Partners. Gideon holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wyoming.

John Brawley was appointed Maverick’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in September 2018. Prior to joining Maverick, Brawley served as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets, M&A and Treasurer at SandRidge Energy. Brawley has held numerous senior leadership roles in public companies, including Chief Financial Officer of both midstream and upstream companies. He also served as Co-Head of the Guggenheim Houston office from 2010-2013. Brawley holds a B.A. in Economics and Biological Sciences from Rice University and an M.B.A. from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University.
